About the Client

Naya Homes is a Vacation Rentals & Short Term Rentals service that offers an end-to-end property management tool.

Requirement

None of the existing property management solutions manage to cover the requirements of the Mexican market, so the request was to design a proprietary system based on their understanding of the limitations that users have expressed: visualization of future reservations with personalized information, self-management of reservations (including their own), open communication channels, understandable visualization and download of metrics, legal documents, and historical records. All of the above in a highly usable environment designed for users with little patience for using technological tools.

Development Process

Before focusing on the client’s requirement and to have a better understanding of the product, I conducted an in-depth analysis of the current tool through user stories. Once the key sections and functionalities were identified, I proceeded with an analysis of best practices of direct and indirect competitors to establish the best practices for our set of functionalities.

The next step was to do a deep reading of the client’s Brief (assisted by AI) from which a high-level sitemap and a general ideal of the required product resulted. The result was reviewed with all the stakeholders with whom the final arrangement was consolidated:

UX/UI Design

For the experience design, we adhered to the client’s requirement to achieve a high level of personalization between the offer and the user’s specific needs. To achieve this, we removed from the original concept functionalities that were not required for the national market, but also accessories, leaving the user with the fewest possible actions and options to perform to achieve their objectives.

The center of the experience was the side navigation bar designed with the objective of freeing up the largest screen space for the visualization of information, but also to structure the options in a centralized, hierarchical, and accessible manner, and give the user a sense of unity between the tools and the context.

As for the aesthetics, we followed the brand’s guidelines and its palette based on the “nature of the surroundings” and seeking that, in addition to maintaining the feeling of luxury, the experience was smooth and easy on the eyes.
